Hello 2nd trimester

So everyone has been telling me just wait til your second trimester, you wont be as tired and you wont be nauseaus...and they were right! Today marks my official move into the second trimester and i feel great! Im definitely not as sleepy and i mean im still eating everything in sight but i dont get nauseus before i eat! I had it pretty easy for the first 12 weeks but you really can tell a difference in your energy and just all around health once you get into the 12th week. I can't believe that i have already been pregnant for 3 months! Its crazy! And only 6 more to go! Jonas, if you're reading take deep breaths... dont. freak.out. We were at dinner with some friends last night and i was telling them that i was at 12 weeks and he had a mini freak out cause he thought we were still at like week 8 or something. Like i said we still have 6 months...we'll get him strait.

We had our 12 week appt last friday to just check in and listen to the heartbeat and it was probly one of the most stressful things i have had to sit through in a long time. Dr. Hirsch came in and explained to not be freaked out if we couldnt get a strong sound or reading on the heartbeat with the dopplar ultrasound on my belly cause he said sometimes its still hard to find on there. Well after 5 or 6 minutes of silence in our room i was starting to freak out just a little bit. Dr. Hirsch said he heard a little something but he wanted to do a vaginal ultrasound so that we (me and jonas) wouldnt be freaking out. Well we waited for him to come back in for about 10 minutes, which were no doubt the longest 10 minutes of my life, but when he came back everything was GREAT! And the little monkey was swimming around like crazy and had a great fast heartbeat! It was so cool to see how much it had grown! I mean it looked so much bigger and like an actual human instead of the kidney bean it looked like last time. So all in all it was a good visit after the little freak out :) but everything seems to be going good and on schedule!

We hung out with some sweet friends on Saturday night, two of which are new mommies and it was so good to see them and their precious babies doing so well! Cherry and El had Lofton back in November and Carlene and Kendall had Emaley in December. The two little boogers were so good and so fun to play with. Thankfully i have these two great moms and my sister who is a mommy-to-be in my life right now to give me advice and assurance that i can raise a child! :) I am so blessed with such wonderful friends! Love you all!

What's a Kumquat?

Well apparently, its in the orange/citrus family and i think i remember eating these when we were in Mexico, or maybe that was mangos? Who knows and who cares...well i do because besides it being a fruit its the size of our baby today! We are 10 weeks today and life is sweet. I have been feeling pretty sleepy lately but im hoping in a few weeks when im in my second trimester that will go away. They say you feel the best in your second trimester so i can't wait!

Things have been kinda crazy lately for us. I had a whirlwind trip to Birmingham for Ashley and baby Brooklyn's baby shower which was so fun, on Saturday. She got tons of good stuff that she will need SO soon. I can't believe it is almost time for Brooklyn to make her debut! :) We also had some Swedish family in town this past weekend so i hurried back from Bham to hang out with them for a bit. Robert and his girlfriend Sara came in town to hang out for a bit. Robert is 32 i think and he came and lived with Jonas' family for a year or so while he was an exchange student here back when we were in 6th grade. And ever since me and Jonas started hanging out i have heard all about Robert and was wondering when i would get to meet him and i finally got to! He was so nice and really funny and his girlfriend was sweet too.

Also, my best friend Bird is living with us! She moved in last Wednesday and is staying with us for about a month and half or 2 so that she can save up some mula and move in with her friend D who is moving here in February. It has been really fun having her here even though we havent gotten to hang too much cause we are always running around but she has been so great. She has been a huge help around the house and takes care of Stoney Bones. He is going to be super spoiled when she leaves because he is gettin to stay out of the cage all day now, and gets to lay around and sleep all day. I wish I was a dog some days...

Hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday!

Very Happy Nine-Month News

So, long time no blog...i know i know. I would understand if you all never read my blog again, but please dont stop because we have very exciting news and a whole new nine months of things to talk about! Jonas and I are expecting our first child! It's our little Europe miracle (a very welcome surprise) and we are just about over the moon with the news. It has been a crazy month for us with getting back from our trip, discovering we were pregnant, and then Bam, Christmas happened and i feel like i cant even remember half of it. We have had so much fun telling family and friends over the past month and enjoying time off of work to be able to be with other and just relax.  I am 9 weeks along and we went to the doctor for our 2nd appointment on December 23rd to see the little monkey for the first time! It was the coolest thing to go in there and not only hear the heartbeat but to watch it beating like crazy! Im not showing yet but im sure once it starts happeneing it will grow like crazy, and i'll post the ultrasound picture as soon as i can! I am sure i will be needing tons of advice here in the next 7 - 8 months so stay tuned. :) Hope everyone is having a happy Tuesday!
